Dizzee Rascal charged with assaulting woman in domestic altercation

Dizzee Rascal has been charged with assaulting a woman following a domestic incident.
The 36-year-old rapper, real name Dylan Mills, is due to appear in court in September following the alleged attack, which is said to have taken place at the woman’s flat in Streatham, South London.
Police arrived at the scene where the victim reported minor injuries but was not taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for The Metropolitan Police said: ‘Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, has been charged with assault after an incident at a residential address in Streatham on 8 June.
‘Officers attended and a woman reported minor injuries. She did not require hospital treatment. Mills is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 September.’
Dizzee has a number of musical performances lined up this month, including South Facing Festival and gigs in Crystal Palace Park and Lydiard Park.

Last week, the artist celebrated the 18th anniversary of his pioneering debut album, Boy In Da Corner, which was released on July 22, 2001, and is regarded as one of the greatest grime records of all time.
Earlier this year, Dizzee was one of the celebrities who appeared on Celebrity Bake Off.
‘They asked me to do it,’ he said, explaining how he landed on the show. ‘I was a bit nervous. I do the odd TV thing every now and then but this one is for a good cause as well.

‘It’s one of those programmes I never saw myself doing but that’s almost a reason to do it because you’re out of your comfort zone. I don’t bake.’
Bonkers hitmaker Dizzee was awarded an MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours for his services to music in 2020.
