Matt Damon horrifies fans after admitting he only stopped using the ‘F-slur months ago’ when daughter told him off

Matt Damon has openly admitted that he only stopped using the ‘F-slur’ a few months ago after being reprimanded by one of his young daughters.
The Good Will Hunting actor shares three daughters, Stella, 15, Gia, 13, and Isabella, 10, with wife Luciana, as well as her eldest daughter Alexia from a previous relationship.
During a recent family dinner, Matt dropped the F-bomb, which is widely known for being offensive towards the gay community, seemingly without initially considering the gravity of the word.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Oscar-winning actor explained: ‘The word that my daughter calls the “F-slur for a homosexual” was commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application.
‘I made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter. She left the table. I said, “Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!” She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous.’
‘I said, “I retire the F-slur!” I understood,’ he added.
Many on social media have expressed their shock that Matt, aged 50, only ‘retired’ the slur months ago when encouraged by one of his young daughters.

‘The fact that Matt Damon’s daughter had to explain to him that saying a slur is wrong is insane,’ one tweeted.
Actor Billy Eichner called him out and said: ‘I want to know what word Matt Damon has replaced f****t with.’
Another Twitter user reacted: ‘I’ve lost some respect for Matt Damon for two reasons: 1. Being a 51-year-old Harvard-educated person who only realized using homophobic slurs was a bad thing *months* ago; and 2. Being foolish enough to think that was a cute story he should share with the world.’
One wondered: ‘So Matt Damon has just been walking around his mansion casually saying f****t in front of his daughters? In 2021?’
‘If Matt Damon doesn’t think his career will be affected after telling everyone he just stopped using the word ‘F*****t to describe gay men….. then he is sorely mistaken.
‘It’s not a cute story, it’s not funny. It’s just f****g sad,’ another weighed in.

Matt is currently promoting his new movie, Stillwater, which has drawn criticism from Amanda Knox who claims the story has sensationalised her life story. It follows an American father who flies to France to help his daughter who has been convicted and imprisoned for murdering her girlfriend.
Knox was originally convicted and then acquitted of being involved in the murder of British student Meredith Kercher in 2007.
