Sex And The City reboot teases tense Carrie Bradshaw and Big reunion in new pictures from set

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw and Chris Noth’s Mr Big are headed for a frosty reunion in the Sex And The City reboot if the latest pictures from the set are anything to go by.

The pair have been spotted rehearsing scenes for the hotly-anticipated 10-part series And Just Like That in New York City, and appear to be having a tense conversation.

In one snap, Carrie rests her arm on her hip and looks at Big with a frustrated demeanour suggesting that he’s in the dog house while he awkwardly grins back.

Another photo shows Big taking an important phone call.

The couple both held onto their scripts as they read through the scenes, with Sarah Jessica wearing an elegant white skirt with black polka dots, a black top and a black fascinator and Chris sporting a smart suit.

The new photos come just weeks after a leaked script suggested that Big has been unfaithful, or at least, is still involved with his ex-wife in some way, which could explain the couple’s uneasy body language.

Page Six recently published an image of a page from the reboot script, belonging to Charles Hunt, which featured a scene where Carrie, Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson) are having dinner at a ‘cramped table’ where restaurant servers keep bumping into them.

Carrie says: ‘I was doing well, wasn’t I doing well? Before this?’, with Miranda and Charlotte agreeing and Stanford saying: ‘I’ve been impressed.’

She continues: ‘I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?’

Chris previously admitted he was ‘hesitant’ to return to the character of Mr Big, telling Yahoo!: ‘It was a little bit of a creative negotiation, because I didn’t really feel I had anything to offer in that role again. It kind of felt like I had done it.’

He continued to the publication: ‘But [writer and director] Michael Patrick King is just an incredible writer and has incredible creative ideas. Once we got together and talked about the potential of what we could do with the character, I was all in.’

Mr Big was the main love interest of Carrie throughout the original six seasons, with Carrie leaving Aleksandr Petrovsky for him in Paris in the series finale.

The 2008 movie followed Big proposing, jilting Carrie at the altar, and eventually marrying her at a register office, and the much-panned sequel saw him give Carrie a late engagement ring after she kissed her ex Aidan (John Corbett) in Abu Dhabi.

And Just Like That will be available to stream on HBO Max.
