Canelo Alvarez’s Most Dangerous Opponent Already Preparing to Fight the Mexican on September 18

Canelo Alvarez needs no introduction in today’s captivating boxing time. The P4P star has pinned himself as one of the biggest names in the sport and he has left no stones unturned in his performances yet. Moreover, he’s one of the most complete pugilists of recent times as he has shown vast abilities in offensive and defensive boxing. But is he yet to face his scariest opponent to date? Who has the ability to smother Canelo Alvarez?

For now, the Mexican boxing star is on his pursuit to claim all the super-middleweight titles- he only needs to face the IBF champ, Caleb Plant to attain this goal. However, as the talks pertaining to a clash between the two have fallen through, this might result in Canelo facing another opponent.

Talking about another contender for Alvarez, the only boxer who’s in the limelight these days is Dmitry Bivol. The latter holds the WBA light-heavyweight strap, and he’s already put himself in preparations to fight the pound-for-pound star.

Recently, Eddie Hearn, interacted with DAZN Boxing Show, wherein he spilled the beans on Bivol gearing up for a fight against Alvarez.

He said, ”So, we’ve been in touch with Dmitry and they’re ready to fight Canelo Alvarez on September the 18th. They’ve been sort of training really for the last two or three weeks in the hope that they do get that pick.”

“I think if it’s not Bivol, then I think there’s a very good chance that September 18 will be put on hold, and we’ll move on to another date and potentially another opponent,” (h/t Boxing News 24)

Is Dmitry Bivol really the toughest opponent for Canelo Alvarez?

The light heavyweight stalwart, Bivol, has a record of 18-0. Out of all his wins, a noteworthy 11 have arrived via T/KO.

He holds enigmatic power that has helped him hammer every opponent he’s faced. Furthermore, Bivol has every weapon in his artillery to stun someone as elite as Canelo. With that, it’d be intriguing to see whether a fight between these two comes to fruition soon.

Alvarez or Bivol? Who will you be rooting for? What do you make of Hearn’s comments?
