Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter left her fellow co-stars shocked after declaring she doesn’t want a funeral when she dies.

The 74-year-old presenter joined Kaye Adams, Linda Robson and Gloria Hunniford on today’s show where they discussed whether they had made plans for their burial preparations.

Janet didn’t mince her words when she told the panel that she doesn’t ‘want anything at all’ because she’ll be dead. And to be fair, she’s got a point.

‘I don’t want a funeral,’ she insisted.

‘Why not?’ Gloria probed, to which Janet bluntly replied: ‘Why bother? I can’t see the point.’

Shocked by Janet’s admission, Linda interjected: ‘It’s about a celebration of your life!’

‘Oh well you can have a party here,’ Janet retorted, as Linda joked: ‘We will, don’t worry!’

Still not fussed, Janet joked that her friends could hire out Wembley Stadium for a big old bash in her honour.

‘I don’t care, I’ll be dead,’ she continued. ‘So, when I kick the bucket, send me to the funeral home, have me incinerated, ashes – you can do what you like with, I don’t care.

‘And if you want to have a party, fine by me.’

She added: ‘But I cannot, cannot bear the idea of having a family funeral – not that I’ve got any family left.’

Gloria, on the other hand, has already made her plans.

The 81-year-old said she wants ‘all the flowers’ and ‘all the people there’.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
