Jose Aldo is one of the best fighters in the UFC. He is a former UFC featherweight champion and is regarded as the greatest featherweight fighter in MMA history. ‘Junior’ made his UFC debut in the year 2011, where he was up against Mark Hominick at UFC 129. He started his career with a win via unanimous decision and won the Fight of the Night award.
Aldo has competed in the UFC for more than a decade and has been a part of some of the biggest UFC fights. Therefore, as the fighter is all set to compete at the UFC 265 event, we decided to take a look at the amount of money Aldo has made for his various UFC fights.
‘Junior’ made his UFC debut back in April 2011, for his first fight against Mark Hominick the fighter made $177,000. This was one of the highest ever payouts a debutant made in the UFC back then. It took Aldo 2 more years to cross the $100,000 barrier again, as he made $290,000 for his successful defense of the UFC featherweight title against Frankie Edgar.
Since then, the fighter never looked back and raked in huge amounts of money for all his fights. He made $260,000 for his victory against Chan Sung Jung, $280,000 for his victory against Ricardo Lamas, and $350,000 for his victory against Chad Mendes.
Aldo lost his first UFC fight when he faced Conor McGregor at the UFC 194 event. This was one of the worst defeats in Aldo’s career as he lost to ‘Notorious’ in just 13 seconds. However, despite the loss, Aldo raked in a mammoth $440,000 from the fight.

Ever since the fighter lost to McGregor at UFC 194, Aldo’s career started going downhill. To put this in context, the fighter won 25 of his 26 fights before facing ‘Notorious’. However, since the loss, he just won just 4 out of the next 9 fights.
Although that did not affect the money Aldo made from the fights. As the next two fights were equally profitable for Aldo. He raked in $515,000 for his victory against Frankie Edgar and $490,000 for his loss against Max Holloway.
Jose Aldo faced Holloway in a rematch at UFC 218, and despite a loss earned $230,000. For his next two fights ‘Junior’ earned $255,000 and $288,00 for his fights against Jeremy Stephens and Renato Moicano. The UFC 237 event saw Aldo earn less than $200,000 for the first time since 2013. The fighter made $130,000 for his loss against Alexander Volkanovski, at UFC 237.

However, the next three fights were very profitable for ‘Junior’. The former champion earned $420,00 for his loss against Marlon Moraes. Following that loss, the fighter lost again when he faced Petr Yan at UFC 251. However, despite the loss, the fighter made $430,000 from the fight.
In his last fight at UFC Vegas 17 against Marlon Vera, the fighter finally won after 3 consecutive losses. The fighter made $420,000 for his decisive victory against Vera.
Jose Aldo has total career earnings of $5,270,500 to date.
