Strong Off Track Result for Alex Bowman Before the NASCAR Playoffs, Finishes 5th in Sprint Car Feature Race

When not in their NASCAR cars, a number of drivers often compete in other racing disciplines. Among them is Alex Bowman, who is competing in the sprint car series simply for the fun of it. Recently, at the Fremont Speedway, he finished second during his heat race and fifth in the feature race.

It isn’t surprising that many NASCAR drivers compete in sprint races. One driver who is well-known for this is Bowman’s teammate Kyle Larson. Without a doubt, Larson is one of the most versatile racers and has competed in a variety of racing disciplines. Now, Bowman is taking a page out of his book, and these races will also suffice as a great form of training.

As Bowman partnered with his sponsor Ally for this race at Fremont Speedway, the livery of his sprint car also resembled that of his Hendrick Motorsports #48 car. Naturally, he is a good time at the racetrack and is keeping himself occupied.

How has Alex Bowman performed this season?

So far, Bowman has enjoyed a relatively successful season in the #48 car, racking up three wins. Without a doubt, Jimmie Johnson has found a worthy successor for his iconic number. For the moment, Alex is sitting in 11th place, comfortably seated and primed for the playoffs. Obviously, his three wins are more than enough to see him qualify for it.

However, he and his Hendrick Motorsports teammates know that the battle is halfway through. For the moment, Larson seems like one of the favorites for the Cup Series title.

However, stranger things have happened and completely new contenders have hit the spotlight. Last year was the biggest example, where many thought the title was between Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin. However, Chase Elliott came from almost nowhere and snatched it from under their noses.
