The Love Island contestants are going to be treated to an intimate performance by Mabel in scenes due to air tonight.

The singer will be following in the footsteps of Craig David, who played a DJ set for the islanders on the 2019 series, and will be putting on a show for the islanders.

Of course, Mabel’s appearance will be sandwiched in-between all the latest drama, including Toby Aromolaran declaring he has feelings for Chloe Burrows and Tyler Cruickshank’s love triangle with Kaz Kamwi and Clarisse Juliette.

Mabel confirmed last week that she would be entering the villa to showcase a rendition of her single Let Them Know.

The 25-year-old, full name Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, announced the news on Instagram and posed by the pool as she prepared to make her entrance.

The singer shot to fame in 2017 with her breakthrough hit Finders Keepers.

Mabel went onto release her debut album, High Expectations, two years later and it entered the UK Albums Chart at number three. It included the top 10 singles Don’t Call Me Up, Boyfriend and Mad In Love.

She has received numerous awards and accolades throughout the course of her career, including the Brit Award for British female solo artist in 2020

Mabel is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry and producer Cameron McVey.

Neneh, who had hits with Woman and Buffalo Stance, has won two Brit Awards and an MTV Europe Music Award. She has also been nominated for a Grammy Award.

Meanwhile, Cameron has worked with musicians such as Massive Attack, Sugababes, and All Saints.

Mabel revealed last year that she had moved back in with her parents during lockdown to help cope with her anxiety.

‘I just thought it was going to be too hard, when I already have a lot of struggles with my mental health,’ she said at the time.’
