WWE fans interrupt Raw with chants for Bray Wyatt, CM Punk and Becky Lynch

WWE Raw hailed from Chicago this week and the typically rowdy city lived up to its reputation throughout the night with chants for Bray Wyatt, CM Punk and Becky Lynch.

Monday’s show came after a huge couple of weeks which have sent shockwaves through the wrestling world, with both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan seemingly set to sign with rivals AEW in the near future.

Over the weekend, fan favourite – and big merchandise seller – ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt was sensationally released from the company after 12 years, while Hall of Famer Ric Flair requested and was granted his own exit.

Throw in the fact that AEW’s upcoming Chicago show at the United Center sold out as quickly as it did (in no small part due to the rumours about CM Punk) and it’s no surprise the crowd had some people to shout out.

Even before the show came on air, fans shared footage of the audience chanting for Punk, which is something WWE must have expected in his hometown.

They continued to call out his name during the Miz TV segment as The Miz and John Morrison were joined by Damian Priest.

Fans at the Allstate Arena for #WWERaw  in Chicago, Illinois interrupted the Goldberg and Bobby Lashley segment with Bray Wyatt chants.

The Archer of Infamy barely held back a laugh as the ‘CM Punk’ chants rang out, but he just about held it together and carried on with his promo.

The opening segment between Goldberg and Bobby Lashley also saw fans trying to hijack the moment, as fans were heard chanting ‘We want Wyatt’ as the Hall of Famer tried to speak.

Of course, the former WCW Champion infamously derailed The Fiend’s Universal Title reign in Saudi Arabia early last year.

There were also more chants for Becky Lynch with The Man said to be nearing an in-ring return after stepping away last summer when she announced her pregnant.

She gave birth to her and Seth Rollins’ daughter Roux in December, and the former women’s champion has been teasing her comeback with Charlotte Flair feeling the brunt of the fans’ desire for her return.

At Money In The Bank, the Queen gave the crowd the middle finger during her match with Rhea Ripley, and during her promo on Monday night she reminded them that while Becky wasn’t there, Charlotte was as she took credit for selling out the Allstate Arena.
