Seth Rogen has clarified that he hasn’t been kidnapped – although, isn’t that exactly what a kidnapper would say?
The comedian took to Twitter to assure fans that he’s totally safe and hasn’t been abducted, following a viral TikTok which questioned Rogen’s whereabouts.
The video, from TikTok user @ChrisCanBeFunny, saw Chris sticking up missing person posters bearing the Knocked Up star’s face, and asking: ‘Has anyone seen Seth Rogen lately? U’ve seen a lot of photos of his vases, haven’t seen a recent photo of his face.’
In case you don’t follow Seth on social media, the 39-year-old has become a keen potter and regularly shares pictures of the colourful vases he creates.
The music video hypothetised that Seth was ‘kidnapped by a shady ceramist’ who was updating the actor’s social media with pictures of vases to convince his fans that all was well.
Suggesting the kidnapper could be forcing Seth to act out lines from The Pineapple Express, Chris sang: ‘He’s allowed to have a hobby, but since this thought popped into my head, I can’t help wondering if Seth Rogen is dead.’
Thankfully, Chris’s theory has been debunked.
Sharing the TikTok video on his Twitter account, Seth tweeted: ‘This video is very funny and not at all true! I have not been kidnapped! This is not a kidnapper writing this from Seth’s account! I promise!’
The song lives on though, as Chris has now shared the song to Spotify. Well, it is a bit of an earworm.
After starring in 2020’s An American Pickle, Seth, like many of us during the pandemic, picked up a hobby and became a skilled potter, sharing his unique vases on social media.
Speaking to The Cut, the comedian said: ‘I do like tactile things; I like to produce tangible work. With movies, we spend years on them and then they’re very intangible. They don’t have weight, they don’t occupy a physical space. You used to at least get a DVD or a Blu-Ray, and you don’t even really get that anymore. I don’t like to keep my own movie posters around because those are just advertising for the product, not the product itself.

‘I do really like being able to create an artistic expression that is a thing that I can pick up, hold, show to people. It is just so different from what I normally do which has no mass to it.’
However, Seth will be back on our screens soon in Pam and Tommy, a limited series about Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape.
He will play Rand Gauthier, the man who stole the tape in 1995, and has been rocking a major mullet on set for the role.
