Even at 42, Manny Pacquiao will be a serious threat to the WBC/IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr’s unbeaten run as a pro boxer. Following back-to-back wins over Keith Thurman and Adrien Broner in 2019, Pacquiao seems ready for a career-defining run at very the dusk of his legendary pro-ride. That said, he has some legitimate chances of winning the fight.
However, Spence Jr’s team believes that the 31-year-old will be the 8th man to beat the great Manny Pacquiao. Trainer Derrick James shed light on why Errol Spence Jr. stands out amongst everyone.
In a chat with PBC, he said, “He doesn’t have any limit on what he will do to get better. I think that’s the key element. He pushes himself to be great”
“That’s why I like him as an individual, not only as a fighter because. He not only do hard work but he wants to be perfect. Pushes himself to be great.”
27-0 as a pro, ‘The Truth’ has 21 KOs under his belt. He is regarded as one of the best welterweights of the era. Besides, he will relish some serious physical advantages which can help him breakthrough ‘Pac-Man’. While Pacquiao hasn’t faced a legitimate southpaw in years, Errol Spence Jr. can offer him a tough challenge.
Meanwhile, the long-lay off from Pacquiao’s side can also be a matter of concern for him. Despite that, he will have his 71-fight experience to fall back on and he will have the fans in his corner. But will it be enough to overcome ‘The Truth’?
