Susan Sarandon is ‘forever hopeful’ of finding another romantic relationship – but isn’t desperate.

A woman after our own hearts.

The 74-year-old split from screenwriter Jonathan Bricklin, 44, in 2015, and hasn’t gone public with anybody else since.

Susan thinks that the window ‘may have closed’ on having a romantic partner, but she is always looking for a travel companion.

The Dead Man Walking star told People magazine: ‘I would like to have a travel companion, male, female — age doesn’t matter, but I would like to find someone who’s up for an adventure kind of attitude. And also, who cares about something passionately and who loves what they do, whatever that is.

‘I guess my point is I’m pretty open, but I don’t know. COVID isn’t exactly the most perfect dating situation to be finding people.’

Adding that she is happy ‘making memories’ with her children, Susan said: ‘In terms of a romantic relationship, I don’t know. That window may have closed, but I’m forever hopeful — but not desperate.’

The Oscar winner, who previously said her ‘sexual orientation is up for grabs’, told the Divorced Not Dead podcast earlier this year that she is more than happy being on her own.

She said: ‘I’m kind of getting off on being by myself. I think I’m pretty open to the idea of being with someone, but, you know, it certainly would take someone extraordinary to share my medicine cabinet at this point. I think that that those days are over.’

Susan was married to college classmate Chris Sarandon from 1967 to 1979, and later had a daughter, Eva, with filmmaker Franco Amurri.

She began dating actor Tim Robbins in 1988 after they met filming Bull Durham, and they had two sons, Jack and Miles, together before splitting in 2009 after two decades together.

While Susan considers finding a ‘travel companion’, she is currently on the promo trail for her new movie Ride The Eagle.

In the comedy, Susan plays Honey, a woman who leaves her son Leif (Jake Johnson) a conditional inheritance when she dies, with Leif having to carry out an elaborate to-do list before he can inherit her cabin.
