At age 13, Sky Brown has made history with her bronze medal win at the Olympics after becoming Britain’s youngest summer Olympian but she’s not only known for her skateboarding success.

At 13 years and 23 days, she eclipsed Margery Hinton’s longstanding record of 13 years and 43 days – from when she competed in swimming in the 1928 Games – to become Britain’s youngest competitor.

As well as smashing Olympic records, Sky also has had more careers already than many people have in a lifetime, becoming a hit on social media and smashing it on reality TV.

Basically, it seems like there’s nothing she can’t do.

A true Gen Z star, Sky has never been coached in skateboarding, instead learning tricks from YouTube.

But that’s not the extent of her knowledge of social media, with the star racking up a huge following.

Who is Sky Brown?

Sky is a professional skateboarder who was selected for Team GB for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

She secured a bronze medal during the showdown at Ariake Skate Park, describing the experience as ‘insane’.

Born to a Japanese mother, Mieko, and a British father, Stuart, she began skating at the age of four.

What else is Sky Brown known for?

Sky’s shared her journey on social media, racking up a following of more than a million on Instagram and nearing 300,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she and her younger brother Ocean, nine, share vlogs.

Much like other content creators and influencers, the teen often partners with brands, posting ad content to her channels.

In 2018, Sky also competed in Dancing With The Stars: Junior, the first series of the spin-off, which starred celebrity children.

Sky competed alongside the likes of Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, and Dance Moms star Mackenzie Ziegler, eventually winning the series with her pro partner, JT Church.

As if that wasn’t enough, she also has a music career of her own, releasing her song GIRL in October 2020 (it’s an absolute girl power banger for the record).

Clearly not content with being an athlete, influencer and musician, Sky’s also an author, publishing her book Sky’s The Limit: Words of Wisdom from a Young Champion last year.

Just to add to her hustle, Sky also has a collection at Claire’s as well as her own skateboard and helmet collection.

The skateboarding star is also sponsored by Nike, making her the youngest Nike-sponsored athlete in the world.
