Kendall Jenner is being sued by Italian fashion company Liu Jo for allegedly breaching the terms of a modeling contract.

According to a complaint filed by the brand, the 25-year-old model was required to appear for two photoshoots, but only showed for one amid the coronavirus pandemic last year.

The documents were filed in U.S. District Court in New York on August 2, with Liu Jo is seeking at least $1.8million (£1.2m) in damages, according to E! News.

The Italian company has accused the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star of breaching the terms of a modeling contract by failing to appear at the second of two planned photoshoots, originally due to take place in March 2020.

The model was to be paid a total of $1.5m, plus a 20 percent service fee for the shoots. The company claims that by February 2020, it had already paid her $1.35m.

The lawsuit states that the parties agreed to postpone the shoot to the fall, but did not confirm a new date.

According to the complaint, Kendall allegedly eventually ‘ceased responding to Liu Jo’ until the company ‘informed her that it considered her in breach of the contract and that, therefore, the contract was terminated’.

The company also claimed it filed the complaint after ‘having no success in obtaining a refund’ the supermodel allegedly owed them.

Kendall, who was the highest-paid model in the world in 2018 with $22.5m (£16m) in annual earnings, has not personally addressed the allegations.

However, her model management company issued a statement denying the claims.

The Society Management told E! News: ‘This suit is without merit. The Society Management, on behalf of Ms. Kendall Jenner, has continually offered Liu Jo alternative dates and locations to fulfill an agreement that was forced to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Jenner has willingly offered to complete services honoring her commitments.’
