Love Island 2021: Hugo Hammond stuns viewers as he slams ‘tragic’ love life in front of partner Amy Day
Yep, us too Amy (Picture: ITV)
Love Island star Hugo Hammond was a character right to the very finish as he was dumped from the villa.
Thursday night’s episode saw a whopping four islanders make their exit as the girls had to choose one boy to save and vice versa for the boys.
In the end, Hugo, who has been in the villa since day one, was axed from the show alongside new bombshell Sam Jackson, who arrived when the boys were at Casa Amor.
As usual each islander gave their thoughts about being dumped, and it was then that Hugo put his foot in it.
Standing next to bombshell Amy Day, who he had coupled up with in Casa Amor, he looked back on his time on Love Island.
‘My search for love in there, erm, “tragic” is probably the word for it,’ he cluelessly stated, with Amy widening her eyes at how that reflected on her.
Not exactly ‘job done’ this time, Hugo.
The former islander went on: ‘But you I know I walk away with my head held high, I stayed true to myself and I look forward to the next chapter of what life has in store for Mr Hammond.’
Viewers were seriously unimpressed with Mr Hammond by this point.
Amy shared: ‘I’m a bit sad that my journey has been cut short, but short and sweet, that’s how I like it.’
New girl Clarisse Juliette, who had been coupled up with Tyler Cruickshank was also sent packing while Tyler and Mary Bedford were saved by the islanders.

Mary, who was saved after forging a romantic connection with Dale Mehmet, said it was ‘bittersweet’ to be saved, as her fellow Casa Amor girls left the programme.
Clarisse, who found herself caught up in Tyler and Kaz’s love game, admitted that her biggest regret was trusting Tyler’s wording, confessing that she wished she’s slept on her own during her time in Casa Amor.
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
