Kathy Griffin has returned home from the hospital after having part of her lung removed.

The comedian, 60, revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer earlier this week, explaining that she would be going under the knife soon.

Taking to Twitter to offer a health update, she shared a video as she sat on a recliner in her garden, as she was given an excitable welcoming by her adorable dogs.

‘Home from the hospital and greeted by my board certified medical PAWfessional recovery pack,’ the star captioned the clip.

Fans were thrilled by the update, and quickly flooded the post with love and support.

‘Be well. Heal up. You’ve got asses to kick and #GoodTrouble to get into,’ one said.

‘Dogs make everything better…sending healing vibes your way,’ another commented.

A follower replied: ‘Welcome home. No place better than your own bed. I’m a couple of weeks ahead of you on recovery. 

‘You will feel stronger every day. Sending healing vibes.’

‘So sweet! They are so happy to see you! That’s the medicine you need! Doggy love, feel better and try and eat,’ a Twitter user added.

Kathy opened up about her illness this week, sharing the news on social media.

Speaking of her condition, she said she had been diagnosed with lung cancer ever though she had never smoked a cigarette.

Despite needing treatment, the award-winner vowed she would be ‘up and running’ in less than a month.

‘I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer,’ she began. ‘I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed.

‘Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!

‘The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung.

‘Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing,’ she added. 

‘I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less.’
