Nab high street brands for a fraction of the price with this simple charity shop hack

CORONATION Street actress and Celebs Go Dating star Kimberly Hart-Simpson is not shy to admit she loves a charity shop bargain.

During her stint on E4’s Celebs Go Dating, the blonde bombshell, 34, proved she’s a loyal British Heart Foundation shopper, donning bargain outfits on more than one occasion, including a £6 dress and £4 boots.

But now she has revealed the top secret charity shop hack for finding your favourite brands in your local charity shops.

Kimberly revealed her latest bargain purchase and the brilliant tip on her Instagram, as she showed off a glam green swimsuit that set her back just £4.

She said: “I receive a lot of inboxes about how I find my charity bargains and though there is no hard and fast rule but there is a secret…

“Most large fashion brands have an associate charity where they gift ‘end of line’ and ‘samples’ to their chosen causes.

“If you have a favourite brand go on their website and look at their charity work section and it will reveal all.”

This isn’t the first time the actress has been spotted wearing a style-savvy look either as her Instagram is littered with fashion-forward snaps.

Kimberly often sports pre-loved bargains on the grid and admits to loving a thrift through the rails of her local charity shops in Manchester and Bolton.

Despite this, Kimberly recently told Fabulous that trolls have targeted her for her quirky fashion sense and love of second-hand clothes.

She said: “It’s crazy but I have had so many people call me disgusting just because of my choice of clothing. For the majority of my life, I have been shopping at charity shops.

“I grew up in a low-income household and to fit in during school you needed brands like Helly Hansen and Lacoste. But my mum couldn’t afford those and so I started to style my clothes in different ways.

“I know that when I am dressing in some of the outfits that I put myself in, I am opening myself up to people’s opinion.

“But I don’t want to be like everyone else.

“All my second hand clothes are bought from British Heart Foundation shops, for £3 or £4.

“I even picked up a Gucci bag for £4 — I don’t know if it is real or not but I don’t care.

My style is my own and it is how I express myself that makes me happy.

“I like the idea of clothes that have a history. My inspiration is just, basically, a car boot sale.

Head over to PrettyLittleThing for details about their donations, as they regularly donate to British Heart Foundation, helping the charity to raise over £710,000 and save 100 tonnes of clothing, shoes and accessories from going to landfill.

Also on Boohoo’s website, you will find details on their charity strategy – with info on their One Love charity clothing collection with 100% of profits going to the Red Cross fund.

Are you a fan of ASOS? Well, they have joined forces with Oxfam Festival Shop, Save the Children, British Red Cross, Cancer Research UK and Royal Trinity Hospice to donate clothes so head down to your local to restock your wardrobe and give to a good cause.

If you’ve got a British Red Cross near you and are a fan of H&M and Zara, get down there immediately as you’ll be able to find their end-of-season fashions and garments for a fraction of the price.
