Sex and The City fans are lapping up all the pictures from the filming of the upcoming limited series And Just Like That…, dissecting all the fashion and character cameos.
But as well as the return of fan favourites and Manolo Blahniks, we could be in for some major tragedy.
It has been claimed that a main character is killed off in the first episode of And Just Like That…, and there’s speculation it could be Carrie Bradshaw’s husband Mr Big.
Chris Noth has been seen on set with Sarah Jessica Parker, but a source has spilled a ‘top secret’ alleged plot that could see him making an early exit.
They told the Daily Mail: ‘In the first episode fans will be served up a jaw-dropping storyline where one of the major names on the show will die.
‘Those in the know are calling it a ”big death”, which obviously has everyone leaping to the conclusion that Mr. Big will be no more.’

They added that ‘only the leading stars and show executives are aware of this presently’.
Big is the obvious choice for such a twist, seeing as the canned Sex and The City 3 movie was set to see the character killed off early on as well.
On James Miller’s Origins podcast, he revealed that Kim Cattrall’s refusal to do the movie came down to the script not offering a lot for the character of Samantha Jones, and explained: ‘They point to the fact that it calls for Mr. Big to die of a heart attack in the shower, relatively early on in the film, making the remainder of the movie more about how Carrie recovers from Big’s death than about the relationship between the four women.’
Noth, 66, hadn’t read the script before it was shelved, but was apparently fine with being bumped off and preferred it to the scripts of the first two movies, saying: ‘I really hate corny stuff and it could be because I’m a little bit of a cynic. Like, the whole thing at the end of the movie in the shoe closet — hated it. Hated the thing at the end of the movie after I felt she deceived me and then I say, “Well, it’s time I give you a bigger diamond ring.” Hated it.

‘I just hate the cornball s*** and I thought it was just really sentimental and overly romantic without any feet in realism.’
Big’s death in the limited series would possibly explain the return of his ex-wife Natasha, after actress Bridget Moynahan was pictured filming in New York.
It also gives a different outlook on a leaked script excerpt which saw Carrie fretting about her marriage while speaking to Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson).
Carrie says: ‘I was doing well, wasn’t I doing well? Before this? I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?’

Could Carrie be reminiscing on her life before tragedy?
However, it also could be that the character of Samantha is killed off, seeing as Kim Cattrall has chosen not to return to the show.
While sources have claimed that the ‘door is open’ for the star to return as the woman who brought sex to the city should there be a second season of And Just Like That…, it has long been speculated that Samantha’s absence from the show will be explained by killing off the character.
