Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy has teased that the show will conclude with season 5.
Just weeks after Jim Hopper actor David Harbour said that the upcoming episodes will set up a ‘definite ending’, it’s been hinted that the beloved Netflix show will soon be wrapping up for good.
‘I have the end in sight,’ Levy said. ‘The brothers have the end in sight. There is a plan and that too will be shared not quite as soon as a sense of when season four is coming out, but soon enough.’
He continued to Collider: ‘I can say this. No, one’s making it up as we go along and there is an endgame, if you will.’
Levy’s come after Harbour shared a glimpse at what viewers can expect in the upcoming fourth season.
‘I mean it’s bigger, that’s the first thing,’ Harbour said. ‘In scope, in scale, even in the idea that we’re not in Hawkins anymore. We, locale-wise, we’re bigger.’

He added to Collider: ‘We’re introducing new stuff, but we’re also tightening and wrapping up in a certain direction to make it have a clear, clean, specific and definite ending at some point, which I can’t really talk about.’
Last week, the stars of Stranger Things were spotted filming the big season four finale, and they all looked ready for war.
Production has begun on the dramatic last scenes, with cast stepping out on set at Spooky Creel House aka Vecna’s Lair in Rome, Georgia.
Stars Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Priah Ferguson, Maya Hawke, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer and Eddie Munson were all seen preparing to capture key moments as the cameras rolled.

Sink has teased the fourth season of Netflix’s hugely popular series will be ‘really dark’ and ‘intense’ as anticipation continues to grow.
Stranger Things bosses have yet to confirm a release date for the new series, but Finn Wolfhard shared with a fan that the show ‘should be out some time next year, hopefully‘.
Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
