When is season 4 of Stranger Things coming out?
What’s going on with Elven in season four? (PicturE: Netflix)
Fans of Netflix’s Stranger Things have been patiently awaiting news about when the fourth season of the show might drop on the streaming service.
We have so far had two separate teasers for the show, one confirming the return of David Harbour’s Sheriff Hopper, while the most recent glimpse suggested we’ll be seeing the return of Dr Martin Brenner, known to Eleven as ‘Papa’, and played by Matthew Modine.
It has been enough to make fans hungry for more official confirmation as to when they could be making a return to the town of Hawkins and the Upside Down.
A new tease from the show has confirmed when we might see the show, and it seems like fans are going to have to wait a little longer.
Here’s what we know.

While no exact air date for season four of Stranger Things has been announced, Netflix has revealed that it will arrive sometime in 2022.
That will mean it will arrive a full three years after season three debuted in 2019.
The show did begin production early last year but had to be halted in March following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Filming then resumed late last year, but having that significant delay in production does mean fans may have to wait a bit longer yet to revisit the town of Hawkins.
However, the delay does seem to have been a benefit to the writers of the show.
One of the teen stars of the show, Finn Wolfhard, shared with a fan that the show ‘should be out some time next year, hopefully.’
Producer Shawn Levy recently spoke about the future of the show beyond season four, indicating that the fifth season could be its last.
‘I have the end in sight,’ Levy said. ‘The Duffer Brothers (the show’s creators) have the end in sight. There is a plan and that too will be shared not quite as soon as a sense of when season four is coming out, but soon enough.’
He continued to Collider: ‘I can say this. No, one’s making it up as we go along and there is an endgame, if you will.’
Last month, the cast of Stranger Things were spotted filming big scenes for the season four finale.
Teenage star Sadie Sink has teased the fourth season of Netflix’s hugely popular series will be ‘really dark’ and ‘intense’, if you weren’t already shaking with anticipation.

As with anything this highly anticipated, many of the plot details are currently under wraps.
When confirming production was underway back in early 2020, Netflix said: ‘We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway – and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper!
‘Although it’s not all good news for our “American”; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other.
‘Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything…’
With the most recent teaser, many fans have begun to speculate not just how Hopper returns, but also whether the show will feature flashbacks to Eleven’s upbringing in ‘Papa’s lab, or whether this season will see the return of her fellow super-powered siblings.
Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
