Below Deck star Kate Chastain fears Katie Flood has ‘already lost the war’ amid the explosive drama surrounding Lexi Wilson.
Fans have watched on in shock as the stewardess kicked off at the cast on season six of Below Deck Mediterranean, launching a scathing attack on bosun Malia White and her deck crew.
She later temporarily turned her Instagram account private over the backlash from viewers, and stated she was ‘no longer in the yachting industry.
Veteran chief stewardess Kate, who is no stranger to an unruly interior team, has had her say on the scenes, suggesting her fellow leader ‘showed her cards’ too much in trying to de-escalate the situation.
‘Dogs, bees, and Lexi can sense fear,’ she joked to Showbiz Cheat Sheet. ‘And Katie is showing her cards too much. She has already lost the war, I fear.’
The Bravo star explained that Lexi needs to learn to be more ‘self-aware’ over her outbursts, but suggested that the pressurised atmosphere on board doesn’t quite help that.

‘Honestly, I think that the most difficult thing about working on a yacht is living with other humans in a stressful situation,’ she continued.
‘But it really teaches you to be socially aware and ironically, the people who need to learn that the most are the ones that have the biggest problem with it, as we can see. She definitely needs to learn to be more self-aware and it’s not going well for her.’
Lexi exploded after a drunken night out earlier this season, blasting David, Lloyd, Mzi and Malia when they returned on board.

She eventually apologised for her actions in a crew meeting the next day, but Malia didn’t believe that her words were ‘completely’ sincere.
Spilling the tea to Us Weekly over the scenes, the bosun said: ‘I think she was kind of like, “Yeah, whatever. I don’t remember. I’m sorry. Like, everyone get over it”. We were like, “How do you not remember? You were saying some, like, pretty intense stuff, you know?”
‘So, I don’t think it was as sincere as we wanted it to be, but I think for her, that’s the best we were going to get.’

She also teased there is a lot more to unfold on our scenes, and we’re not entirely sure we’re ready for the drama.
‘The story with Lexi isn’t done, so you’ll get to see, you know, what else happens and what we go through with Lexi,’ she added.
‘But I think what’s happened has happened with Lexi and she’s just kind of done with it and that’s fair.’
Below Deck Mediterranean is available to stream on HayU, with new episodes dropping on Tuesdays in the UK.
