It’s one of the raciest hit dramas in recent years, but Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor has revealed she is ‘not embarrassed’ about her family seeing the show’s sex scenes.
The actress, known for her role as Daphne Bridgerton on the popular series, opened up about her experiences watching the programme back with her parents.
Phoebe’s mum, Sally Dynevor, is known for her role as Coronation Street’s Sally Webster, while her dad Tim Dynevor is a writer on Emmerdale.
The 26-year-old explained that having family members in the industry made it easier.
‘Luckily they are in the industry so I guess they probably understand more than most,’ Phoebe told the Mirror.
‘I think they are really proud to see me work so hard on the show’, she added.

The Regency-era drama quickly became known for its titillating sex scenes, which were applauded for the portrayal of the female gaze.
Phoebe previously discussed the steamy moments her character Daphne Bridgerton shared with Regé-Jean Page’s Simon Bassett in the hit TV series Bridgerton.
‘There are a lot of differences between me and Daphne but I think she values family, which I also value, and at a time when women had only one option, she was as determined to make that happen as I am in my career I guess, and I think that was sort of my way into Daphne. I admired her more because she made it happen but she called the shots, and she also found love,’ she told Deadline.

‘Their sexual evolution was very important to the storyline and something me, [showrunner Chris Van Dusen], Regé and everyone involved really wanted to tell truthfully and in a way that was safe for everyone.’
Phoebe became a household name after the first season arrived during lockdown. She’s set to star in the second season, which has endured a tricky start after production was shut down due to a positive Covid test.
Filming was suspended for 24 hours in July after a crew member tested positive. Things were due to begin again, before a second positive result caused the set to be shut down indefinitely.

Stars and cast of the show are now back at work and filming is underway once again.
While the majority of the main cast will return for season two, Regé-Jean will not be returning.
Bridgerton season one is now streaming on Netflix.
