“Might Get to No.4”: Andy Murray Remembers His Caroline Garcia Prediction While Praising Jenson Brooksby
20-year-old American Jenson Brooksby is making headlines in the tennis world as he reached Citi Open 2021 semifinals. Most significantly, the young tennis player has managed to impress former World No.1 and two-time Olympics champion Andy Murray.
But while the Scot praised Brooksby on Twitter, he encountered a question over his past predictions. Accordingly, Murray answered it, remembering German tennis player Caroline Garcia.

Admirably, the young American has produced pure magic on the tennis court in Washington, DC. Moreover, to reach the semifinals at Citi Open 2021, he outclassed Kevin Anderson, Frances Tiafoe, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and John Millman.

Subsequently, Brooksby also found a fan in Andy Murray, who compared his slice and backhand volley to retired German Florian Mayer.
“Jenson Brooksby is the sort of player I love to watch, lots of variety, high tennis IQ, great in defence. His slice and backhand volley are almost identical to Florian Mayer,” Murray tweeted.

In response, a tennis fan requested the three-time Grand Slam champion, “Just don’t say he’s a future #1. We know how that ends.”
Notably, the dig was at Murray’s prediction about Caroline Garcia a decade ago when she played against Maria Shaparova. He had said, “The girl Sharapova is playing is going to be number one in the world one day. Caroline Garcia, what a player u heard it here first.”
As of now, the German professional has reached a career-high ranking of World No.4 in singles and World No.2 in doubles. Consequently, Murray decided not to repeat the same with Brooksby.
“Yea, he might get to number 4 in singles and number 1 in doubles. That would be awful,” Murray answered back.

However, it is now to see whether Brooksby pulls up on the expectations. Interestingly, his next opponent will also be equally determined for glory in Washington.

Who will Brooksby play against in the Citi Open 2021 SF?
In a battle of age, 19-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner will challenge Brooksby for a place in the final. Without any doubt, this semifinal is all set to be a complete blockbuster.
Above all, both the young gems have garnered some reputation in the tennis society. But, it would now be time for them to convert praises into titles.
Who do you think will go and play in Citi Open 2021 final? Sinner or Brooksby?
