‘This Skill Is Unmatched’: Kevin Durant Calls Out Team USA Critics After Winning Gold at Tokyo Olympics

France could not keep up with Team USA as they lost in the Gold medal matchup. This win mark’s USA’s 4th consecutive gold medal in basketball. Moreover, given the journey, it makes it all the more sweet for Kevin Durant and his men.

After losing to France in their opener, Team USA went out and got even. However, they did it on the grand stage of the finals. Kevin Durant was the star of the show yet again scoring a game high 29 points. France looked good to start the game as they look an early lead. But, it all came to shreds as USA kept the lead all game long since then.

A lot of critics said that Team USA was not the best anymore, and Kevin Durant made sure he had the last word.

Kevin Durant calls out the critics

After winning the gold medal, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green were heading to the press conference. On their way, KD decided to go live on Instagram and had a few words to say to the Team UA critics. Durant said that the skill level of USA is unmatched, and the world has not caught up to them. He said:

“They had some power rankings out, they had us 4th. Come on man, talking about they catching up to us like are you serious? This skill is unmatched, you dig.”

He further congratulated everyone that was a part of Team USA’s gold medal triumph. In addition, Draymond Green openly called out Kendrick Perkins for not being supportive to USA. USA has been on a dominating run after their loss in the opener against France.

However, has the world caught up or not?

Rest of the World at par with Team USA?

The Rest of the world surely impressed throughout these Olympics. They competed at an high level and fought till the end. Teams like Slovenia, France and Australia surely emerged as worthy competitors. But, is it enough to say they are with Team USA?

USA’s depth is currently unmatched. Not only do they have a roster full of NBA players, but they are some of the most talented players in the NBA. On the other hand, the rest of the world has a few NBA players. However, there has surely been a huge increase in the level of competition. ‘

To sum it up, USA is still the best basketball country. But, in a few years, there may be few other nations who could compete for that throne.
