VIDEO: Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane Engage in Heated Face-Off Ahead of UFC 265

Derrick Lewis is set to take on Ciryl Gane in this weekend’s UFC pay-per-view. The heavyweight clash will go down in the main event with the interim belt on the line. Both fighters are determined to get their hands on the strap as it guarantees an automatic shot at the undisputed title and a unification fight against the current champion, Francis Ngannou.

However, ‘The Black Beast’ and ‘Bon Gamin’ faced off ahead of the event recently. And, tempers flared a bit between the duo. In fact, they had to be separated at the ceremonial weigh-in event. Lewis got into Gane’s face straight away and some pushing and shoving went on before security intervened.

Many believe Gane is a unique problem for the division with his swift movement and distance management. But Lewis has the touch of death to stop any fight with the blink of an eye. It only takes one shot from ‘The Black Beast’ to floor his opponents. There have been numerous evidence of him getting dominated in fights only to completely change the course of a contest with one shot.

The Houston native will look to use that weapon to his advantage when he takes on the Frechman, Gane. And he gave his opponent a reminder of the knockout prowess he possesses. He repeatedly kept saying, “One time,” to Gane which one might consider a teaser for what might happen.

Gane, though, managed to keep his usual calm demeanor throughout the process and remained unfazed by any offerings from his opponent during the face-off.

Can Derrick Lewis upset Ciryl Gane?

While Gane certainly has more tools in his arsenal t use against Lewis, the latter is a much more experienced campaigner. If the bright lights of a UFC pay-per-view main event make Gane uncomfortable, remains to be seen. Lewis has had made a fair share of experience over the years to make his position at the top of the division.

H is tied for the most knockouts in the history of the organization. Whether ‘The Black Beast‘ can roar again and adds Gane to his collection, will be interesting to know. But it won’t be easy to handle ‘Bon Gamin‘s flair.
