Katie Ledecky Hopes Her Tokyo Olympics 2020 Story ‘Inspires’ Young American Women to Dream Big

Katie Ledecky has a message for young American athletes and swimmers

“I hope it inspires a lot of young women….Personally, I didn’t think that I would ever make it to the Olympics when I first started swimming. When I watched these Olympians I thought you got to be some superhero and I had no interest in how you qualify for these games. But as I got older, I got closer and closer to qualifying…I could just feel it getting closer and closer.”

“So I hope a lot of young kids are inspired to make their way up in whatever it is they’re passionate about….I found something I love and I found something that I’m pretty good at and I try to be the best that I could be at it,” Ledecky said in an earlier interview.
