Michael Jordan’s Bulls Teammate Steve Kerr Ranks Kevin Durant Over Him – Courts Controversy

Kevin Durant is the official American Superhero after he helped Team USA Men’s basketball team win their fourth consecutive Gold. The team leader led from the front as he saved many crucial games for the US where they trailed in the beginning.

KD’s extraordinary fortnight in Tokyo paved the way for his comparison with the likes of Michael Jordan (Dream Team). While everyone else can just speculate, only someone who has worked with both MJ and KD can speak with weight in his words about who is better. So what’s the final verdict?

Steve Kerr indirectly called Kevin Durant the GOAT of the sport

In Team USA’s 5-1 run at the Tokyo Olympics, the coaching duo of Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr were instrumental at every turn. They faced criticism for those exhibition losses and the disappointment against France in the opening game. However, the duo knew that with Kevin Durant by their side, there was nothing much to worry about.

KD averaged 20+ in the Tokyo Olympics and became the all-time American leader in total points, made FTs, made 3Ps, and attempted three-pointers. This meant that he surpassed Dream Team’s Michael Jordan and Redeem Team’s LeBron James and became the finest Olympic baller ever.

Perhaps this was why Steve Kerr called Kevin Durant the “most skilled basketball player ever”, indirectly downsizing Michael Jordan.

KD vs MJ: Who takes the lead one-on-one?

Any such comparison between The Sniper and Air Jordan can only be mythical since they never shared the court. However, one can compare their attributes and come to a vague conclusion about the better between the two.

Kevin Durant holds an edge over Michael Jordan because of the 6” height difference. KD’s wingspan of a lethal 7’4” makes him a tough to guard athlete even when it is His Highness standing against him. But it does not end there. The Slim Reaper carries the speed and athleticism of a guard and does not shy away from dunking or long-range shooting, even when his strength lies in the mid-range. All this makes him a superhuman.

Now, with MJ, the positives are his mental edge and his physical game that can put any defender to shame. Michael can easily trash-talk his opponents, get into their heads, and manipulate them on the court. This is why he never resorted to signing another big star and building a Big Three to win a title.

Now, we leave it on you to decide who is better. Let us know if you agree with Steve Kerr or you have your own backing for Jordan’s legacy. We’re awaiting your comments.
