VIDEO: UFC Flyweight Manel Kape Flatlines Ode’ Osbourne With a Devstating Flying Knee at UFC 265

Former RIZIN bantamweight champion Manel Kape took on Ode’ Osbourne as the featured bout on the early preliminary card at UFC 265. The bout took place at flyweight, where both men are unranked at this point in time.

The fight started off well with both men feeling each other out in the first round. However, as the fight went on, Kape started gaining more momentum and started landing his shots better. Kape trains at the American Kickboxing Academy and has definitely seen a progression in his striking game under the tutelage of Javier Mendez. Towards the end of the first round, Kape landed a flying knee timed to perfection that put the lights out on Osbourne. Giving him his first win in the UFC.

Kape is known for his striking prowess. He uses a lot of kicks and knees along with his hands to display an all-rounded striking game. This was on display against ‘The Jamaican Sensation’. During the fight, Kape landed a number of leg kicks and even tried to land a few up top as well. However, they were all blocked by a very game opponent.

In the final minutes of the fight, as Osbourne was charging forward, Kape landed a flying knee that landed right on the button. He followed that up with a few shots while Osbourne was on the ground. The referee stepped in after seeing that Osbourne was unable to defend himself. ‘Starboy’ landed 19 total strikes over the course of the fight with an accuracy of 66%. He also landed 19 significant strikes also with an accuracy of 66%.

Kape was signed to the UFC as the RIZIN bantamweight champion. He made his debut in February this year when he succumbed to a unanimous decision loss against Alexandre Pantoja. He then lost his next fight as well this time against Matheus Nicolau. Therefore this is Kape’s maiden win in the UFC. He could not have asked for a better way to secure first win with the promotion.
