Ryan Adams has spoken out once more after he was accused of manipulating female artists two years ago.

In February 2019, a New York Times report accused the musician of being ‘manipulative, obsessive and controlling’.

A total of seven women came forward with allegations, including ex-wife Mandy Moore and singer Phoebe Bridgers.

It was also claimed a now 20-year-old fan exchanged messages of a sexual nature with Ryan when she was underage.

The Wonderwall hitmaker has now spoken out about the claims again, saying he’s struggling with the fallout from the situation.

He told Los Angeles Magazine: ‘I felt like they were asking me to die.

‘So I’m losing my life’s work, and my dream of who I am, my ability to provide for myself.

‘And I now don’t have the emotional support to help fix this. The door has slammed and what am I going to do?’

Adams issued an apology last month after being accused of sexual misconduct and emotional abuse by multiple women.

It was claimed Ryan was ’emotionally abusive’ and made ‘sexual advances’ while offering to help the stars with their careers, with Ryan ‘severing ties’ if he was rejected.

Adams tweeted of the report at the time: ‘Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period.

‘I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologise deeply and unreservedly.’

Insisting he has sought professional help to get sober, Adams issued a statement to the Daily Mail after the claims, saying: ‘All I can say is that I’m sorry. It’s that simple. This period of isolation and reflection made me realise that I needed to make significant changes in my life.’

He added: ‘To a lot of people this will just seem like the same empty bull***t apology that I’ve always used when I was called out, and all I can say is, this time it is different.’

The musician added that he is ‘still reeling from the ripples of devastating effects that my actions triggered’ after ‘realising the harm I have caused’, and said that he will ‘never be off the hook and I am fully accountable for my behaviour’.

He concluded: ‘I hope that the people I’ve hurt will heal. And I hope that they will find a way to forgive me.’
