Sad News for Sebastian Vettel as Aston Martin F1 Fail in Their Bid to Overturn Disqualification by Stewards
The stewards have denied Aston Martin the right to review the case of Sebastian Vettel for failing to provide fresh evidence. However, they can still appeal against the verdict of the stewards.

The disqualification review of Sebastian Vettel
The German driver was happy to secure P2 for the Silverstone-based team after a long and hard battle against Alpine’s Esteban Ocon. However, the mood of the team died down as they were made aware that Vettel had been disqualified from the race. The reason being, that 1.0 liter of fuel couldn’t be obtained from the car.
However, the Silverstone-based team there was more than 1.0 liters of fuel in the car. According to their data, they have 1.74 liters of fuel, and hence decided they were going to appeal the decision of Vettel‘s disqualification.

Speaking to Motorsport.com, Team Principal, Otmar Szafnauer said, “By all of our calculations, there should still be 1.44 liters of fuel left in the car after the 300-milliliter sample was taken.
And we just have to show the FIA that it was in there, and 300 milliliters is enough for their fuel sample. And that will be the basis of the appeal.
“So the car will be impounded. So we’ll just go in and find the fuel and measure it. We’ll figure it out,” Szafnauer concluded.

How has the German been performing this season?
In his new chapter with Aston Martin, things didn’t get off to a good start. Vettel had been struggling ever since the season kicked off in Bahrain. But, at the Monaco Grand Prix, the 34-year-old scored his first-ever points for the team by crossing the line in fifth place.

And, in the next race weekend in Baku, Vettel came home to take P2, giving the Silverstone-based team their first podium of the season. However, there is still a long way to go to bring back his old form of consistently scoring points and getting podiums.
As of now, Vettel finds himself in twelfth place in the driver’s standings with just thirty points. With the summer break now on, he would be hoping to achieve a good result at the Belgium GP.
