Sara Davies is swapping the Dragons’ Den for the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, after being announced as the latest addition to the show.
The star was announced on this morning’s edition of Good Morning Britain, and said: ‘My mam and dad are going to be so excited. I’m really nervous because so far the producers keep asking me if I can dance. Truth be told – I haven’t got a clue! I’ve not danced since I did ballet lessons when I was little.
‘The business world has taught me that tenacity, drive and determination deliver results, I hope that I can bring that to the dancefloor. And I’m excited to see the impact of all those hours of training on my mum tum!’
The 37-year-old is probably best known as one of the Dragons on the BBC show, but if you’re keen crafter, you may have known her as the Crafting Queen long before she joined the show.
While at university in 2005, Sara founded Crafter’s Companion, a crafter’s supply company which sells everything from papercraft to yarn and watercolour paints.
With the help of her signature Enveloper tool, which allowed users to easily make handmade envelopes, Sara’s company was turning over £500,000 a year by the time she graduated.

Crafter’s Companion now employs almost 250 people worldwide and has offices in the UK and the US, with its 2020 financial filings revealing a group turnover of £34million and a net profit of £1.6m.
Sara was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1016 New Hear Honours for services to business, and was previously named emerging entrepreneur of the tear by Ernst & Young.
Sara’s status in the business world caught the attention of the Dragons’ Den teams, who hired her to replace Jenny Campbell in its 17th series.
She became the youngest ever investor on the show in 2019.

Outside of business, Sara is a mother-of-two to sons Charlie and Oliver, who she shares with husband of 14 years Simon Davies, and the family lives in Teesside.
Sara is the sixth celebrity announced for the 2021 Strictly line-up, joining McFly’s Tom Fletcher, Peep Show star Robert Webb, presenter AJ Odudu, Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite and CBBC star Rhys Stephenson.
John will make history as part of the first same-sex male partnership on the show, after boxer Nicola Adams was paired with Katya Jones last series.
