Binotto Intends to Confirm Ferrari’s Reserve Driver at Alfa Romeo F1, Mick Schumacher at Haas

Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto has provided an update on the progress of Ferrari Academy Drivers. He also mentioned that he is happy with the progress of rookie driver Mick Schumacher at Haas.

Binotto stated he hopes Schumacher would stay with Haas for the next season as well. There are multiple reports mentioning that Mick could move to Alfa Romeo for next season, replacing Antonio Giovinazzi.

I think he’s behaving well with the Haas: Mattia Binotto on Mick’s progress

As reported by It. Motorsport, the Ferrari team boss hopes that Schumacher could continue his progress with Haas in the second half of the season as well.

“If we look at the ‘seniors’ group, Mick is having his first year in Formula 1, and it was very important to take the pressure off and complete a season of growth and learning, and I think that’s what he’s doing, I think he’s behaving well with the Haas, “said Binotto.

“Our goal is to confirm him in Haas. We are discussing it with the counterpart and he is reaching the objectives we asked him. He made some mistakes, but we hope that in the second half of the season he can reduce them more and more.” said the Ferrari team boss.

Mattia also provided an update on the future of Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi. He stated he is impressed with the constant growth shown by the Italian driver in F1.

“Another of our ‘senior’, let’s not forget, is Antonio Giovinazzi, who is also our third driver, our first choice,” said Binotto.

Every season has always confirmed an important growth, and let’s not forget that he has been standing still for a long time and this aspect has not facilitated his inclusion, because these cars are really very complicated.

I think he is showing great growth. I hope he can find a seat in Formula 1 also for next year, perhaps in Alfa Romeo, would be ideal ”. said Mattia.

Both Schumacher and Giovinazzi’s contract expires by the end of the season. It would be interesting to see where the drivers will end up next season.
