Bray Wyatt teases return of The Fiend with sinister new mask in cryptic post after WWE exit

Bray Wyatt has hinted at The Fiend making an epic return after his WWE exit in a typically cryptic social media post.

The former world champion, who was sensationally released by the company at the very end of July in one of the most shocking cuts in recent memory, has largely kept quiet since his WrestleMania 37 loss to Randy Orton but he’s clearly still got some big plans.

Within the first hour of Monday Night Raw this week, Wyatt posted a haunting piece of artwork which appeared to be a new mask, which could be a hint at another evolution for The Fiend character.

Not giving too much away, he simply wrote alongside the picture: ‘You can’t kill it.’

The post caught the attention of fans, including actor Freddie Prinze Jr, who worked for WWE on the SmackDown creative team in the past and certainly seemed impressed here.

Replying on Twitter, he simply said: ‘Preach’.

It’s a rare post for Wyatt nowadays, as he only recently tweeted after a fan suggested they had found a hidden message in the final Firefly Fun House segment, which aired on the Raw after WrestleMania 37 and saw Wyatt talk about being reborn as he appeared to be shifting towards a healer or preacher character.

Another person agreed that he might have been foreshadowing his release, and while it could seem like a stretch, the man himself hinted there could be something to it.

Keeping things as cryptic as ever, he simply shared a red circle emoji as a reply, which honestly could mean anything at this point – but the idea of things coming full circle is an intriguing one.

Wyatt hasn’t been seen on screen since that show in April, which came one night after he lost to Randy Orton at the show of shows.

Fans and fellow wrestlers have been stunned by the news, with Alexa Bliss – who has worked with him extensively over the past 12 months – paying tribute moments after the announcement.

She tweeted: ‘I really am at a loss for words… thank you so much Windham for everything you’ve done for this company. The most fun I’ve had is working with you. Such an amazing talent & the most kind person. I’m just in shock.’
