Caitlyn Jenner proved that she is totally backing herself to be named Governor of California as she jetted home to the US.

The Olympian turned reality star recently returned home from Australia, where she was due to be taking part on Big Brother VIP.

While it isn’t clear why she is back in America so soon as filming for the series has only just kicked off, the 71-year-old wasted no time in getting back to normality.

She was spotted running errands on the streets of Malibu, rocking a T-shirt which read: ‘Caitlyn for California’

Her appearance may come as a shock as she was due to be Down Under for the current series of Big Brother VIP.

The star had been a big draw for the show, alongside Married At First Sight Australia’s Jessika Power and Meghan Markle’s brother.

However, shortly after jetting to Australia for the episodes, she was pictured back in the US – confirming her arrival subtly on Instagram with a snap of her dog, alongside the message: ‘So happy to be in California’.

Considering this latest celebrity edition of Big Brother is yet to air, it’s unknown whether the Keeping Up With The Kardashians favourite was simply eliminated during the early stages of the competition, or decided to leave on her own accord.

Caitlyn has a lot to be getting on with on her return, as she has been busy with her election campaign.

She had been widely tipped to run for the Governor position, replacing Democratic incumbent Gavin Newsom in the position, but only confirmed her spot in April.

Sharing a statement on the news, the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star said at the time: ‘California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality.

‘But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.

‘I have been a congressional disruptor throughout my life, from representing the United States and winning a gold medal at the Olympics to helping advance the movement of equality.

‘As Californians, we face a now or never opportunity to fundamentally fix our state before it’s too late.’
