Dog the Bounty Hunter has set a wedding date as he prepares to tie the knot with fiancée Francie Frane on September 2.

The 68-year-old, real name Duane Chapman, is set to marry his partner in just a few weeks, two years after his late wife Beth died following a battle with throat cancer.

During Tuesday’s episode of the Two Guys From Hollywood podcast, the TV personality, opened up about his September wedding plans as he stated: ‘I’m getting married.

‘We went to the venue, picked it out yesterday, looked at it. Man, it costs a lot to get married. My god’.

He continued: ‘Francie’s husband passed away over three years ago. Beth passed away over two years ago and I felt very bad to even wanting to have someone else after Beth.’

Dog then revealed he felt at ease when he learned from the bible that ‘God does not want man to be alone…’

The reality star had previously hinted at his wedding plans on Instagram last week after he shared a photo of his bride-to-be.

‘My Francie Francie I Love You !!!!’ he wrote. ‘And soon be proving that beyond a Shadow of a doubt!!!’

The TV star has faced heavy criticism ever since he announced his engagement to Francie, ten months after Beth died.

He and Beth began dating in 1986 and married in 2006, before she died on 25 June at the age of 51 following a throat and lung cancer battle

After announcing his engagement to Francie, Dog stated that he wanted her to be ‘the last Mrs Chapman’.

Opening up about their special bond, he said: ‘It’s a God relationship because it’s just like a miracle. It’s a miracle how we met and it’s a miracle how great we’re getting along. It’s a very real love that we are developing with each other.

‘Both of us are allowed to talk about our spouses that are in Heaven – it’s not like we’re afraid to mention it or anything like that. We console each other but we also know that we have a responsibility and that is to do this right.’
