“Has To Regroup”: Andy Roddick Reflects on Taylor Fritz Situation at National Bank Open 2021
American tennis player Taylor Fritz has been a popular name in American tennis. However, there was an unfortunate update with the player as he crashed out in the opening round of the ATP event in Montreal. He lost to Australian tennis player James Duckworth in straight sets.
After his tournament ended, tennis legend Andy Roddick spoke on Taylor Fritz and the events that took place during the match. He felt that the youngster should sort his issues physically. If he intends to be a top 10 player, he needs to get the better of players like Duckworth.

The former US Open champion stated, “It’s a weird match to analyze. At face value, Taylor Fritz has been a guy who has been close to the top 20 but maybe not quite there. We’ve been talking about him for a while. Can he break into the top 10? If you want to do that then you got to beat Duckworth in a tournament like this.”
Taylor Fritz struggled in Montreal
During the match, Fritz suffered some complications with his heart. The temperatures were really high too, which probably had an impact on him. However, if he wants to make it big, he needs to be able to get used to these situations.

The former World No. 1 added, “Taylor was struggling physically, wasn’t really sure what was really on. He looked exhausted and there was a lot of talk about heat and humidity today. Fritz has to regroup, get his body right. He’ll be hoping what’s happening with his heart isn’t too serious.”
Reflecting on the season, Fritz began competing in Melbourne but lost to Novak Djokovic in five sets. At the French Open, he lost in the second round. Later at the Wimbledon Championships, he lost in the third round. We wish that he recovers soon and can compete at the US Open later this month.
