“I Would Bet on the NFL” – Gable Steveson Drops a Major Hint on Pursuing an NFL Career After Tokyo Olympics Victory

Gable Steveson made one of the most memorable moments of the Tokyo Olympics. With just under a second to go, the 21-year-old scored three points to secure his maiden Olympic gold medal in the men’s 125kg freestyle wrestling category.

Since his victory in Tokyo, Steveson’s stock has been shooting straight up. Many fans speculate about his future options to be competing in WWE, UFC or the NFL. Earlier today, the 21-year-old dropped a hint towards what he will choose to take up in the immediate future.

Gable Steveson hints at pursuing a career in the NFL with a tweet

The American arrived at the Tokyo Olympics on the back of winning a gold medal in the Pan American Championships. During his three matches before the final, he dominated all his opponents, scoring 23 points across those matches. In addition, he did not concede a single point in either of those matches which displayed his talent.

However, the 21-year-old found himself in a tough battle for gold against Georgia’s Geno Petriashvili. Steveson trailed 7-8 with just under a second to go. However, he pulled off a spectacular maneuver to take an enthralling victory en route to his first Olympic gold medal.

During the Games, he displayed a lot of potential, which made many believe he could pursue a career in a different sport. Earlier today, betting website BetOnline.ag tweeted the odds of the 21-year-old choosing various avenues in the future. Although they placed the highest odds on pursuing a career in the NFL, Steveson replied to the tweet saying people could bet on that choice.

Stevenson also courted by the WWE

While he admitted the NFL is a real possibility, the tweet from BetOnline.ag placed much lower odds on Steveson joining the WWE. In addition, WWE COO Triple H posted tweets congratulating the 21-year-old after his victory.

Steveson possesses an incredible set of skills which would make him succeed in either of these avenues. However, fans will have to wait for the 21-year-old to decide given the Tokyo Olympics just ended.
