Jason Momoa pays tribute to Aquaman superfan after eight-year-old dies of brain cancer: ‘You will live in my heart’

Jason Momoa has dedicated Aquaman 2 to late superfan Danny Sheehan after the eight-year-old died following a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

The young boy went viral in November 2020 after the Game of Thrones star shared a sweet video call shared between the pair while Sheehan was battling a rare form of brain cancer and cancer in the cerebral spinal fluid.

Sheehan’s family revealed he died on Sunday in a statement posted on their Facebook page, 4TheLoveOfDanny.

Taking to Instagram on Monday after Momoa learned the news of Sheehan’s death, the See actor paid tribute to hislate fan with a sweet message.

‘I just found out this heartbreaking news,’ the 42-year-old actor. ‘All my Aloha to this beautiful Ohana Love u baby boy rest in piece (sic).’

He continued: ‘You will live in my heart I dedicate aquaman 2 to you lil angel Aloha UNKO Aquaman (sic).’

The Justice League actor also took to his Instagram Story that day to share a TikTok user’s message about Danny that read: ‘I have no words that could do you justice. All I can say is what a privilege it is to be your friend. You are as bright as the sun.

‘I’ll always be awestruck by you (and everyone that sent packages for our visits!). You deserved more than to fight childhood cancer with adult treatments.’

Sheehan is survived by his parents Daniel and Natalie, who had been keeping well wishes updated on their son’s four-year battle with brain cancer.

An obituary for their son stated: ‘Just after midnight, while in our arms, Danny took his last sweet small warm breaths and took flight.

‘An Angel in Heaven. Instead of here on earth. Surreal and utter heartbreak can’t even begin to describe this feeling inside.’

Aquaman 2 is set for release on December 16, 2022.
