Kurt Angle Shares Why Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Put Him Over in an Iconic Segment

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining wrestlers of all time. His character and personality outside the ring were what resonated with the fans. Throughout the years, he has been part of many enjoyable segments. One of them was his backstage promo with WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.

During an episode of “The Kurt Angle Show”, Conrad Thompson and Angle talk about the backstage promo with the Rock. In the promo, Angle was saying to the Rock to let bygones be bygones and offered him some milk as a peace offering. ‘The Great One‘ obliged and said it’s the best milk he ever had.

“That was for me to get the rub. The Rock was the biggest superstar that I’ve ever known. Him and Stone Cold. And to get a rub from him [Dwayne Johnson] was incredible because when you’re accepted like the Rock, you know you’re a huge deal. And Dwayne, that night, that was the reason to give me a good rub.”

There aren’t many wrestlers in the world who could match the popularity and fame of Dwayne Johnson and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The name was a combination of his dad’s first name and his grandfather’s last name. The reason was that both of them were pro-wrestlers and Vince McMahon like the name.
