Below Deck star Kate Chastain has revealed whether she would ever return on board for another charter season.
The veteran chief stewardess and fan favourite bowed out of the show last year at the end of a dramatic series seven, following six years in charge of the interior crew.
She was replaced by Francesca Rubi for season eight, but her absence was definitely felt by viewers, who have been calling out for her to come back ever since.
Chatting to Us Weekly in a joint chat with chef Ben Robinson, the 38-year-old revealed what it would take to get her to set sail once more.
‘It would take a lot of money,’ she said. ‘I would take a page out of Ben’s book. There was a couple of seasons where he would come in as the save the day guy for, like, one, maybe two [episodes]. That’s the only way I would ever consider it.’
‘If someone had a gun at my head, maybe I would,’ Ben laughed when discussing a surprise comeback.

‘It’s always liberating to save a season. You come in, you’re fresh-faced and you’ve got an upper hand on everyone. You don’t have to form relationships, you don’t have to notice how other relationships have formed.
‘It’s great saving the day.’
While we would all love to see Kate walking down the dock in a designer outfit and lugging her suitcase behind her once again, there is someone who may want that a little more than us.
Chatting about his colleague turned close pal in a chat with Metro.co.uk, Captain Lee revealed he would love to have her back – ‘as a guest’.

Side note: That didn’t work out too well for Adrienne Gang in season two…
‘I’d come to depend on Kate for so much, for so many years,’ he said of working without her for season eight. ‘There was definitely an adjustment period getting used to Francesca, because we had never worked together, we’ve never met.
‘When you work that closely with somebody, you have apprehension about: How are we going to get along? Are our personalities going to mesh? Are we going to click? Is she going to be adaptable to the way that I want things done? Am I going to be able to adapt to how she likes to do things?
‘So there’s a lot of variables, a lot of unknowns that I think worked out quite well.’
Below Deck is available to stream on HayU now, with new episodes of Below Deck Mediterranean dropping on Tuesdays in the UK.
