Katie Price’s son Harvey ‘accepted into £350,000 college’ following BBC documentary success

Katie Price’s son Harvey has reportedly been accepted into a £350,000-a-year residental college, and is said to be moving out of the star’s home in just two weeks.

The college is said to be the same one both Katie, 43, and Harvey, 19, had visited on the BBC documentary Harvey and Me.

Harvey is also eligible for Government funding to help him pay for the college’s fees due to his pre-existing disabilities and medical conditions, but it is unknown if Katie’s previous application for financial help has been accepted or not.

A source told The Sun: ‘Harvey has been accepted into the National Star College.

‘She [Katie] had her heart set on the college since they visited in her BBC documentary Harvey & Me.’

Katie had previously spent six months visiting colleges for students with learning difficulties in order to ensure she was making the right decision for her son.

She had also got Harvey a three-bedroom house to help him get used to living more independently before he moves to his new school.

The former glamour model had given fans a tour of the home in a video posted to her YouTube channel, revealing that Harvey would have a carer that stays with him in the house as well as cameras so she can keep an eye on him and speak to him.

Before Harvey and Me aired, Katie had spoken more about the documentary, and the ‘heartbreaking’ decision to put her eldest child into care.

During an appearance on The Jeremy Vine Show, she explained: ‘I hope the programme will be educational to everyone because it is hard and now that he is going to go to a residential college.

‘He needs to sort of find his independence and it’s not an easy journey when you’ve got disabilities. It’s hard enough when you’ve got an abled kid, but when you’ve got someone like Harvey, it’s just all paperwork and finding the right place for him.’

Asked whether or not she’ll miss him, the mum-of-five responded: ‘It will break my heart, but I know he’s not gone forever.

‘I have to do it, I can’t be selfish because I would have him at home with me all the time.

‘Even though it’s very challenging, he’s part of me, isn’t he? He’s come to the age that just like with any kid you just have to let them explore the next level.’

Harvey and Me was praised by fans, with many branding Katie an ‘exceptionally brilliant mother’ as the show gave fans a glimpse into Harvey’s everyday life.

Following the success of the documentary, Katie and Harvey have plans to star in another.
