Love Island star Matthew MacNabb has become the latest star to be dumped from the villa after Priya Gopaldas chose to couple up with new bombshell Brett Staniland

Despite only arriving in the villa days ago, medical student Priya has become embroiled in the show’s latest love triangle with Matt and new bombshell Brett who arrived just yesterday.

As the recoupling got underway around the firepit, tonight’s episode ended with Priya choosing who she wanted to continue her Love Island journey with.

Explaining her decision, she said: ‘I feel like with one of the boys, conversation flows really easily. I’m really comfortable with him and it helps that I could stare into his eyes all day.

‘So the boy I’d like to couple up with is… Brett.’

She later added: ‘It’s bittersweet because Matt is such a good guy… I just hope I haven’t made a mistake.’

Earlier in the episode, Brett was given the choice of which girl to take on a date and chose Priya.

Sparks flew on their date as she confessed: ‘I’m very glad you picked me.’

‘I was always going to choose you to go on a first date,’ he admits as she replies: ‘I do feel like you need to have that connection. You need to be on the same level emotionally.

‘I like someone who is intelligent and athletic. I usually go for confidence on the outside but a sweetheart on the inside.’

Speaking of their time together in the Beach Hut, she revealed her attraction to the newbie, telling the camera: ‘Brett is fit. He’s so good looking and he’s a health student! He’s a studier, nearly got a PhD – Dr Brett! I was drooling.’

Priya also admitted that she wanted to go slowly in making her decision, as her eyes were still on Matt.

In a candid chat with Chloe Burrows, she adds: ‘I’m still confused. I still want to get to know Matt. I don’t want to make my decision too quickly.’

Love Island airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV2.
