‘Show Your Decency’ to Lewis Hamilton Even if It’s ‘Impossible to Forgive Him’: Dutch F1 GP Boss

Tensions are high between title contenders, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Without a shadow of a doubt, the most talked-about incident between the duo was their clash at Silverstone.

And, since then, Hamilton was booed. Hence, when the paddock moves to Zandvoort after the Belgium GP. Dutch boss, Jan Lammers has stated that fans shouldn’t boo the 7-times world champion.

Lammers urges fans not to boo Lewis Hamilton when he races at Zandvoort

The race for the championship between Verstappen and Hamilton has never been this intense. On top of that, the incident between the two drivers was a turning point in their rivalry. Hence, when they face each other at Max’s home race, Lammers asked fans not to boo Hamilton.

Speaking to De Telegraph as quoted from Grandpx.news, The Dutch boss said, “If Hamilton comes to the Netherlands for the grand prix, please make sure he is treated with respect instead of this vulgar booing.”

“Show your decency when a seven-time world champion comes here. We should be proud of that. It is downright antisocial and unwise to yell ‘boo’. Respect is something you have to show if you want to get it for yourself.”

“As motorsport enthusiasts, we have to show that we handle this situation in a better way. Make sure that other people don’t have to be ashamed,” he concluded.

The next chapter of their rivalry takes place at Spa

After the Hungarian Grand Prix, neither Hamilton nor Verstappen were pleased with their respective performances. Now with the summer break on, both men will be looking to bounce back and grab a victory for the respective teams at the Belgium Grand Prix.
