Matilda Ramsay, Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, is the latest celebrity to be confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The chef and social media influencer’s spot on the 2021 line-up was announced on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning after weeks of speculation.

Speaking to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, Tilly confessed that she was ‘slightly terrified’ at the thought of taking part.

‘I’ve tried dancing before when I was much younger,’ she said. ‘Mum put us all in ballet. We weren’t very good so we were moved into football camp.

‘It’s definitely not my strength.’

During her appearance on This Morning, the teenager was surprised by a video from dad Gordon, who was thrilled by her next venture.

‘Hey Tills, it’s your dad, TikTok coach, dance extraordinaire,’ he said. ‘Wishing you all the very best, we’re proud of you girl. Love you!’

The dancing hopeful later added: ‘I’m so excited and grateful to be joining the Strictly family! I’m always up for fun new challenges and this will be my biggest adventure yet!

‘I’m going to put my heart and soul into this and can’t wait to get my dancing shoes on and show my Dad how it’s really done! Bring on the glitz, glamour and sequins!’

Matilda joins the likes of former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, who were confirmed yesterday.

‘It’s been so hard keeping it a secret, but I can finally say that I’m getting ready to shake my shimmy and become part of the Strictly family!’ Katie enthused.

‘I’m really not a dancer, but I’m so excited to learn a new skill on this crazy journey and cannot wait to slip into some sequins along the way.’

Dan added: ‘I’m one of those people, I’ve danced at three weddings and two school discos and one ceilidh.

‘I’m just going to enjoy the experience when it starts, of actually being able to learn to dance and have a bit fun, and we’ll see what happens.

‘I’ll be honest with you, I’m not making any room on any shelves in our house for the glitterball.’

TV presenter AJ Odudu, Peep Show’s Robert Webb, McFly star Tom Fletcher and Dragons’ Den investor Sara Davies are on the line-up too.

As are CBBC host Rhys Stephenson and former Bake Off winner John Whaite, who will also be taking to the dancefloor as part of the show’s first all-male pairing.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC later this year.
