What is hard Mountain Dew and when will it be available to buy?

ON August 10, 2021, it was announced that the creators of Mountain Dew would be creating an alcoholic version of the drink.

Fans of Mountain Dew will be waiting a short while for the drink’s release.

What is hard Mountain Dew?

PepsiCo and Boston Beer are teaming up to create Hard Mtn Dew, an alcoholic-flavored malt beverage.

The drink will contain a 5% alcohol volume content.

Early images of the product seem to show that it will contain zero sugar.

The new beverages will come in three flavors: black cherry, watermelon and original.

“For 80 years MTN DEW has challenged the status quo, bringing bold flavors and unmatched beverage innovation to millions of fans,” said Kirk Tanner, PepsiCo Beverages North America CEO.

“The Boston Beer Company partnership combines two recognized leaders in our respective industries to address the changing tastes of drinkers and we are thrilled at the opportunity to create HARD MTN DEW that maintains the bold, citrus flavor fans know and expect.”

When will it be available to buy?

The drinks are expected to hit shelves around 2022.

In a press release, PepsiCo and Boston beer said they paired together because they “understand the importance of delivering new, breakthrough innovations to address the changing tastes of drinkers.”

Boston Beer said the boozy beverage will be “marketed to adults of legal age and merchandized consistently with other alcohol beverages.”

What did people say about hard Mountain Dew?

Fans of Mountain Dew took to social media to express their mixed feelings about the drink.

“Mountain Dew Hard Seltzer trying to pretend it’s not Four Loko like,” one joked.

“Four Loko is how you made your kids. Hard Mountain Dew is how you lose custody,” another said.


One user joked about the ingredients of the new drink, writing: “I better not catch y’all drinkin that hard Mountain Dew they cookin up. Y’all bout to grow gills fr.”

“I’m not going to pretend I’m not going to drink Hard Mountain Dew,” one penned.

“Some of y’all are gonna not get the vaccine because “you don’t know what’s in it” but still drink Hard Mountain Dew.”
