Kerry Katona left Good Morning Britain viewers absolutely baffled as she was brought in to weigh in on the debate on whether it’s ok to wee in the sea, saying that she thinks it’s ‘disgusting’.

On Thursday’s edition of GMB, Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway hosted a segment discussing whether it is acceptable to urinate in the ocean if there are no toilets nearby, even if there are fellow swimmers nearby.

While TV presenter Nick Ede said that he thinks doing so is ‘harmless’, Kerry couldn’t disagree more, comparing it to people washing their hands in toilet water.

‘I think it’s wrong, it’s dirty, it’s disgusting. It’s like going into a communal toilet, having a pee, then not washing your hands,’ she said, joking that she was going to ‘kill’ Nick over his view.

‘Instead of washing your hands in the sink, go in the toilet next to somebody who’s just had a wee in there, and wash your hands in that. That’s exactly what you’re doing when you’re going for a pee in the sea. ‘

Kerry, who has five children, said that she would find it ‘really, really dirty and disgusting’ if someone peed in the sea while close by to her young daughter.

‘I mean we’re polluting the world as it is, and then going in the sea and having a pee when it takes you two minutes to go over and have a wee in a toilet, two minutes to go and do,’ she stated.

The 40-year-old added that while she would have weed in the sea as a child, ‘as an adult, I think it’s something that I really frown upon’.

Several GMB viewers questioned why, while discussing whether it’s ok to wee in the sea, Kerry was brought in as a guest to debate the topic.

‘It’s 7.40am. Why is Kerry Katona on my screen talking about p***ing in the sea,’ one person tweeted.

‘We’re at the “Kerry Katona tells us not to piss in the sea” stage of 2021,’ another said.

Others asked why the subject was brought up on the show in the first place, with a Twitter user saying: ‘When there’s hard hitting subjects that need addressing like p***ing in the sea, who ya gonna call?!…..’

‘Ain’t no way a national breakfast show asks the same questions I do to my boys after a 24 hour insomnia fuelled delirium,’ someone else remarked.

One person added: ‘You know what, I think I preferred it when it was non-stop coverage of Covid,’ while another quipped: ‘I’m glad we’re getting to the bottom of the important issues.’

It has been announced that Richard Bacon is to appear as a guest host on GMB later this month, becoming the latest presenter to take Piers Morgan’s place on the show.

Richard previously guest presented GMB in 2019 in Piers’ absence.

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
