“It’s Intense” – Kyle Larson Exited About the Road America Circuit

Recently, reports emerged that there are plans to repave the Road America race track. This is expected to take place for the coming season, though the track authorities have yet to make an announcement. Truthfully speaking, many usually expect such operations to take place, but it does not mean that the drivers have to like it. However, Kyle Larson recently spoke about the issue.

The problem arises when new asphalt sometimes results in less-exciting racing. The reason for this is that the grip has a tendency to equalize cars in the corners, thus hobbling cars’ ability to overtake. On the bright side, there is a possibility that road courses should mitigate the problem.

After the Cup Series race at the track, Kyle Larson had his take on the situation. He said, “It’s intense. All the braking zones are rough, the track is like 1½ car lengths wide, it seems, so there’s not really room for mistakes, like (the Circuit of the Americas has) tons of room for mistakes, runoff areas, Sonoma less but still a lot more than here.”

Kyle Larson is currently focusing on his 2021 campaign

Moving from one road course to another, Larson triumphed at the Watkins Glen International circuit. In the process, he managed to snatch the championship lead from Denny Hamlin. Granted, Hamlin was hanging on by his fingernails, and the lack of Cup wins this season, did not help.

Of course, he knows that the battle is only half done. In addition to that, the regular season championship is not the real prize. Instead, he will have to compete in the playoffs, where the Top 16 start from scratch. The last season has also proven that the regular season champion does not necessarily win the playoff. Sometimes, the overall champion is a completely different driver. However, that does not mean that he will give up the ghost, instead he will fight tooth and nail for the crown.
