You can now play as Ryan Reynolds in Fortnite, with his ‘Dude’ alter ego

Deadpool is already in Fortnite but now so too is Ryan Reynolds himself, or rather the ultra-muscled Dude character he plays in Free Guy.

The plot of new film Free Guy is basically The Freeman Show but with video games, as Ryan Reynolds’s character ‘Guy’ discovers he’s in a GTA Online style open world.

That has led to bunch of Easter eggs in the movie, as well as cameos from a variety of Twitch streamers and these cool/disturbing versions of famous video game box art.

Although that was a neat marketing move the idea of putting him in Fortnite is a complete no-brainer, although it’s somewhat surprising that the skin is of Reynolds’ ‘Dude’ character rather than Guy.

As well as a skin there’ll be a variety of related in-game quests, which you always get with big character cameos, and a free emote voice-acted by Reynolds himself.

The skin and everything else will be available from around 1am tonight/tomorrow morning, when you’ll want to look out for special blue ATMs that give out the new Free Guy quests.

The skin will only be available until September 6, while the movie is out tomorrow, Friday 13th.

That date isn’t a good omen, but then neither were the trailers and apparently the film is actually quite good.

We could always use a bit more kindness on the Island so Guy from @Freeguymovie has stopped in with a few tasks to do.

Complete quests to earn the new Good Guy Emote!
