Big Brother VIP has already been making headlines ahead of its launch… but host Sonia Kruger has teased that even more gripping stories are on the way.

The upcoming celebrity edition of Big Brother, which is being filmed in Australia, stars several figures who’ve experienced their fair shares of controversy in the past, from Thomas Markle Jr, Meghan Markle’s half-brother, to reality star and political candidate Caitlyn Jenner.

Earlier this month, a trailer for the show featured Thomas describing his half-sister as ‘shallow’, adding that he warned Prince Harry that he thought Meghan was going to ‘ruin’ his life.

However, Australian TV presenter Sonia has implied that the sneak peeks viewers have had so far of Big Brother VIP have only been the tip of the iceberg.

During a recent interview on The Morning Show in Australia, the media personality said that the series is set to make ‘worldwide headlines’.

While she didn’t specify which contestants are behind the newsworthy stories, the show boasts a number of high-profile individuals who could be responsible for making a stir.

As well as hosting Big Brother Australia, Sonia, 55, also hosts The Voice Australia, in addition to presenting Dancing with the Stars and Today Extra.

In addition to Thomas and Caitlyn, other stars of Big Brother VIP include Married At First Sight’s Jessika Power; Omarosa Manigault Newman, former advisor to Donald Trump; and Luke Toki, a reality TV star.

Shortly after the stars were photographed entering the Big Brother house, Caitlyn was captured arriving back in Los Angeles, leading to speculation that she may have exited the competition early.

It’s currently unknown whether Caitlyn was eliminated from the competition or left on her own accord.

Channel Seven confirmed the launch of Big Brother VIP in March, with Seven Network Programming Director Angus Ross describing the new season as ‘fantastic’.

‘The new season of Big Brother looks fantastic,’ he said in a statement. ‘We can’t wait for Australia to meet this year’s amazing collection of housemates and to start discovering the many surprises and twists we have built into the show.’

Big Brother VIP will air on Channel Seven later this year.
