Britney Spears’ father Jamie has reportedly agreed to step down from her conservatorship, pledging to participate in an ‘orderly transition’ to a new legal arrangement, and so now there are hopes that the Womanizer singer can finally have a child with boyfriend Sam Asghari.

In June, Britney explained to a court that she wanted to have children with Sam but was allegedly blocked from removing her intrauterine device – also known as intrauterine contraceptive device or coil.

The singer had fought to remove Jamie from the court-appointed order, which had been in place since 2008 and put him in charge of her wellbeing and financial affairs.

Britney already has children with her ex-husband – but who are they, and who is their father?

Here is all you need to know about the singer’s kids.

How many children does Britney Spears have?

Britney, 39, has two sons – Sean Preston Federline (15 years old) and Jayden James Federline (14 years old).

Music seems to run in the family, as an insider told Us Weekly ‘They usually listen to rap and EDM.

‘Sean Preston, in particular, is a big fan of synthesizers and likes to toy around with deejaying in his spare time.’

Additionally, Jayden has said that he wants to be a producer when he is older.

The boys have largely stayed out of the public eye as they have grown up. An insider told Us Weekly that this is partly down to the custody arrangement Britney has with their father, and partly down to the nature of teenage boys – the insider explained that the boys are usually just hanging out with their friends.

In March, Britney shared a rare picture of her sons on her Instagram account.

The image showed the two happy boys towering above their 5′ 4″ mother, with Britney commenting in her gushing caption ‘My boys are so big now!!!!’.

The singer said she understands that teenage boys don’t want their mums posting pictures of them online – but was ecstatic that they finally agreed to let her share one.

The singer wrote in her caption: ‘I haven’t posted pictures of them for some time cause they’re at the age where they want to express their own identities and I totally get it’.

She added: ‘But I went out of my way to make this cool edit and guess what …. They’re finally letting me post it !!!

‘Now I don’t feel left out anymore and I’m gonna go celebrate ….’

Who is the father of Britney Spears’ sons?

Sean and Jayden’s father is Kevin Federline, one of Britney’s former backup dancers.

Britney and Kevin met in 2004 – and after just three months of dating, the pair announced their engagement in July, 2004.

The duo got married that September in Studio City, California.

However, the whirlwind relationship was short-lived, with Britney filing for divorce from Kevin a mere two months after Jayden was born in 2006.

She lost custody of her young sons the next year following a mental breakdown, but gained some of it back once she had recovered.

Britney and Kevin had 50/50 custody of their sons until 2019 when Kevin filed a report accusing Jamie of being involved in a ‘physical altercation’ with her eldest son Sean.

In a 2019 agreement between the former couple, Kevin was awarded 70/30 custody of the boys, with court documents which were filed and obtained by TMZ stating as much.

Throughout the years, the two have maintained an amicable relationship, with Kevin saying in a 2008 interview: ‘Britney is an awesome mom. That’s one thing I never really have to worry about.’

He added: ‘It’s good for the kids to see that Daddy does care about Mommy, and Mommy does care about Daddy.’
